All We Need ıs Laugh, Laugh is All We Need

I think there is one thing in this world that is really unique; ‘laugh’. Laughter is a reaction that occur because of a certain emotion or feeling in human. Laughter sometimes does not make sense at all. Generally, people think that laughter is caused by funny things but people also laugh when they are being tickled. Does not it weird when you are being offensed by someone, you feel annoyed but all you can do is laugh instead of getting angry? To make it even weirder, why can’t we tickled ourselves?  We will automatically laugh when someone touch certain area of our body but when we cannot make ourselves tickled. It is really weird.

Besides, why do we need to laugh?

All these kind of questions haunted me for ages since I was little. After doing some researches, I have finally found enlightment.  Here are some benefits of laughing:

Wiki says that laughter helps humans clarify their intentions in social interaction and providing an emotional context to conversations. It also says that laughter is used as a signal for being part of a group — it signals acceptance and positive interactions with others. Wiki is right, as always, because laugh can be an appreciation in natural way given for your friend after he/she told you a joke. By laughing, she/he will think that you have the same way of thinking.

Laughter also has a closed relationship with health. It lowers anxiety, boosts the immune system, and aids circulation. Morever, laughter is a great cardio workout; it gets your heart pumping and burns a similar amount of calories per hour as walking at a slow to moderate pace. So, those who hate being fat, what are you waiting for!?

By The Sea is Where I Want to Be

Everyone loves and wants to have a vacation especially when they need to escape from their daily life and so do I.

Being away from home should have made me excited to see a new world. However, I have not been feeling so energetic lately since this month has probably became the toughest month as far as I live here. It is because I have been busy with many tasks, assignments, and mid tests. Because of these, I do not have time to gather with my friends and this makes me bored and lonely. One day, my friend gave an idea for us to have a trip to another city in Turkey together after facing this hard month. Since then, I have been longing to have a vacation.

One of my favorite destinations of vacation is beach. I have always loved being in a sea; to feel the atmosphere of it, to smell the scent of it, and to make me feel like I am part of the nature. I recently went to the sea called Belitung Island with my family as our last trip before I went to Turkey.

In case you wonder where it is, Belitung Island is the island which is marked in green.

For a long time, Indonesia has been known for its popular beach in Bali Island. Though, there are so many other beautiful beaches which have just been discovered lately. One of these hidden paradises is Belitung Island.

Talking about the beach vacation, I have an unforgettable experience when I went to Torquay, United Kingdom. I went there with my uncle, aunty, grandmother, brother, and two cousins. We woke up early in the morning and begun our journey from Buckinghamshire to Torquay by 2 cars.

By the time we got there, my brother and I were really excited that we did not even care that we were exhausted after spending many hours travelling in a car. Rather than taking a nap in the apartment like the others did, my brother and I preferred to take a walk along the seashore. We were walking while enjoying the view until we found a high cliff. The cliff was steep and slippery. My brother suddenly stopped walking and gave this crazy idea, “I think the view is great from up there, why don’t we climb this cliff?”

“Have you gone crazy? There’s no way we can climb it.” I replied.
“No, there’s a path, look!” he pointed out the simple stair made from the stone of the cliff. It cannot even be called as a stair because still, it was too precipitous to be climbed.
“But it’s too dangerous, what if we fall?”
“Well, then do whatever you want. I’m going to climb this.”

So I went back to the apartment with hesitation because I left my brother alone. Strangely, until about 3 pm my brother had not came back yet. I began to feel worried. I used my uncle’s binocular and took a look around the cliff view with it from the apartment window. Then I recognized something. There was a red stuff, laid down on one side of the cliff. I was so shocked because it was the hat that my brother had been wearing. I zoomed the binocular to get a clearer sight so I could determine that it was, indeed, a hat. Unfortunately the binocular was in its limit of zooming.

My heart was beating fast. What if he fell from the cliff? There will be news all over England’s newspaper about an Asian boy who fell off the cliff and died on his first-time-holiday-to-UK. It was the first time my brother and I went far away from home. We had not ever been to another country before. We should had created an unforgettable memory. Plus, he was just a 14 years old. My mind kept haunting me, “What if he died?” or “What if his body will never be found?”

My missing brother! (my face has to be censored due to the ugliness LOLOL)

I told my uncle what was happening. He, then, went to the cliff to seek him. I was crying and praying to God to put my brother in the heaven.

When it was getting dark, someone knocked the door. I opened it and found my brother was looked so exhausted. I was relieved yet angry at him at the same time.

He then told me that after reaching the top of the cliff, he found himself in a high hill. When he wanted to come back home, apparently he could not go down in the same path he had taken because it was too dangerous. He decided to take another way yet he got lost. When he asked an old lady and her husband, instead of giving him a direction, they were inviting him for lunch in a restaurant. That was why my brother came back home so late.

After that, my uncle came back home and told me that the red thing I had seen from the binocular was just a red plastic. I, then, realized that my brother was still wearing his red hat.

I will never forget that moment; the moment when I felt like I had lost a brother. L

P.S: if anybody knows a nice place in Turkey to be visited, please give me a recommendation. Thank you.
